My day job has me being creative on a variety of ways, but the best part has to be when I have a chance to hone my sewing skills. Recently, I made this adorable handbag out of Echino Kokka fabric from the Carry Me book. This cute little number is the project people will be working on in our Sewing 101 course. It really covers all the basics too!
For the most part, it's pretty easy to make. The book, however, did not have good instructions at all. At least not for this design. If you have experience sewing you can sort of figure it out but if you are a novice/beginner, you'll definitely need an expert's advice. Still totally worth the effort and very chic!

Leah Goren's items since November. Maybe it's all the cat inspired clothing and accessories that won me over, or maybe it's the gorgeous, original design. Either way, I'd love to add one of her items to my wardrobe, particularly the cat dress. So adorable, n'est pas?

Visit my tutorial HERE at the Pins & Needles Blog to learn how to make your own scented sachets.
Here is a list of what to do with your sachets once you are done:
1) Throw them in the dryer with a non scented dryer sheet to add a nice scent
2) They make great bridesmaid gifts!
3) Keep that musty smell away by putting them in your drawers.
4) Add a little loop of string and hang it around your hanger in the closet.
5) I like to keep a sachet in my purse. It's add a nice scent and occasionally I'll take a little sniff to help me calm my nerves.

"Ideas dictate everything. You have to be true to that or you're dead."
Daily Insights by 3rd Ward are the best thing to wake up with in the morning next to coffee (which I actually don't drink). They only have one rather major fault; it's mostly significant quotes from men.
Sigh . . . .

Love these shoes by Rachel Comey available at Beklina's. Such a happy discovery and such an amazing online boutique. I love the whole "eco boutique" idea and their emphasis on handmade in the USA. It's one of those situations where a gal just wants about everything in the shop!
